Introducing the Framework

DigCompEdu Overview

As our mission as educators changes from “busy in front of the class” to “the class is often online”, so too must our skills evolve to meet this digital reality.

The European Framework for the Digital Competence of Educators (DigCompEdu) proposes 22 competences that we as educators need in order to excel in digital environments.

DigCompEdu identifies six focus areas for educators’ digital life. Each focus area contains a cluster of competences. Explore them all using the menu above.

The Progression Model

DigCompEdu progression model

The developers of the DigCompEdu framework propose a progression model describing six proficiency stages. You can assess your own level using the official self-reflection tool.

The Catalogue of Free Mini Courses

The Catalogue of Free Mini Courses (hosted at learn.myfutureway.co.za) uses Moodle 4.x and will be re-catalogued in due course to map to the competences discussed in this framework.
